Grand Opening Scheduled

CEDAR SPRINGS, MI – German beer soon will flow at Cedar Springs Brewing Company.
The long-awaited brewery recently announced a Nov. 13 grand opening, 13 months after construction in downtown Cedar Springs was originally slated to begin.
The ribbon cutting and first pour will take place at 1 p.m. that day, when full beer and dining menus will be revealed and available, as well as Old Cedar Creek Sodas, Vino131 wines and Cedar Cider. The grand opening celebration will continue on Nov. 14.
The announcement came a few days after a tongue-in-cheek post on the brewery’s official Facebook page blamed delays in opening on such things as having “to hike supplies up the White Pine Trail by foot” and “We took a wrong turn in Albuquerque.”
In reality, the opening was delayed by construction issues, and a successful quest for $285,000 in state tax incentives.
Owned by David Ringler, the company will open despite still seeking a property tax abatement.
The brewery will feature traditional beer and food, with an emphasis on German recipes, including lagers and sausages.
