This is Dave, the Director of Happiness here at your friendly, neighborhood brewery…
I wanted to update you regarding the COVID-19 outbreak. We are ALL going to get through this together! Our priorites are as follows:
1. Safety of our employees and guests
2. Be a community resource and safe haven
We completely understand that some of our friends and neighbors may be unsure or fall within a “high risk” group, so in closely monitoring the situation with our local health officials and the CDC, we are taking the following steps immediately to ensure the safety of our staff and guests:
I. We are removing half our tables this morning. This is to maintain “best practices” of a 3-5′ halo between non-related groups. We will also be temporarily utilizing paper food and beer menus to avoid multiple hands between cleanings. Condiment containers are also cleaned between uses.
II. While our staff regularly maintains safe practices, we are implementing a mandatory hand wash for all staff every 20 minutes in addition to their regular routine. We encourage guests to do the same.
III. We’ll have hand sanitizer readily available throughout our tasting room. Please use it in between hand washing. Please leave them in place so that others may use them.
III. We are expanding “take out” service with dedicated staff member to take orders and a dedicated parking spot behind our back door. Please call (616) 696-BEER to place orders.
IV. We are implementing a temporary delivery service in our local community. This may take us a few days to develop (and we ask your patience), but we want to offer this service for guests who may otherwise be unable to come in, particularly among high risk groups.
V: If YOU have any symptoms, or you’re around someone with symptoms, we ask you NOT to come to our establishment. We love you all and we want your business, but we also want to keep everyone safe and we ask you to avoid patronizing us (or the public) for at least two weeks. As our delivery service is developed, we’re happy to bring a little happiness to you if you’re within our local area and we thank you for your discretion…we’re all in this together.
VI: With kids out of school through early April, we’ll be expanding our children’s menu (including take out) over the next few days to offer more options during their time off school.
VII: We have two staff members on voluntary quarantine due to airplane travel. No one has any symptoms, nor have they been knowingly exposed to anyone with symptoms, but we’re taking every precaution to ensure the safety of YOU and our staff.
VIII: Our planned events Starkbierfest! and our Easter Brunch will be cancelled to avoid the larger crowds in close quarters and the potential for food cross-contamination. We are terribly disappointed to do this, but safety is our number one concern.
VIIII: We’re verifying safe practices will all our suppliers who are vetting their employees and ensuring safe, non-contaminated packaging.
None of this is taken in haste, but upon advice from our health officials and in the interest of ensuring everyone’s safety and trust.
We THANK YOU in advance to all of you for working together to get us through this and your understanding. We will continue to update as the situation develops.

In 2018, we partnered with BayernTrips on our first Tour of Bavaria with nearly 30 guests, ranging in age from 17 to 77. We all had such a good time, we’re doing it again…in 2022.
BayernTrips is simply the best tour operator we could partner with, as owners, Scott & Vonia Stephens, are Michigan natives who live and guide from their Munich home. This trip will be guided in English by the BayernTrips team, as Scott is a Diplom Bier-Sommelier along with Cedar Springs Brewing Director of Happiness, Dave Ringler. We will visit many “famous” beer and tourist destinations in Bavaria, Austria and the Czech Republic, along with lesser-known breweries and friends who have inspired the menu and award-winning beers brewed at Cedar Springs. Upon meeting in Munich, your entire trip, including breakfast and second meal/day, transportation, accommodations and starter beverages are all included….along with your membership into Fundbüro, our special alumni Stammtisch.
This is truly the trip of a lifetime!
More information, itinerary (scrolls to the right) is available on the link below. This trip fully SOLD OUT for 2021, but has now been rescheduled for 2022 and is fully reserved as we are limited to a maximum of 34 participants. A waiting list is available, however. Sign up here:

Besides the famous Oktoberfest, Starkbierfest (“Strong Beer Festival”) is the second big German beer festival time during the year. Historically, monks brewed strong beer or Bockbier which was higher in calories and a bit stronger to substitute for food during Lenten fasting. This “Liquid Bread” and annual brewing specialties have survived the times and re-emerged at your friendly, neighborhood Brewing Company. So join us at this year’s “little Oktoberfest” on Saturday, April 6th in our parking lot for amazing beverages, food and music.

Over the summer, favorite Cedar Springs Brewing Company beers were baked into Cedar Rock Bread Company’s fresh homemade breads and sold at the brewery’s farmers market. Now, those same tasty loaves will be available for purchase year round in the CSBrewery Shoppe.
“Part of our mission is community involvement, so we were happy to work with Kris and her team at Cedar Rock Bread Company through our CSBrew Farmers Market this summer. Together, we created authentic, classic breads using our traditional beers, which are made using only four ingredients,” said David Ringler, Cedar Springs Brewing Company’s Director of Happiness.
A rotating variety of freshly baked beer breads will be delivered twice weekly to the shop, located at 81 N. Main St NE in Cedar Springs, Michigan. Customers can purchase styles like Golden Ale Baguette, Golden Grain Artisan Loaf, Irish Stout Rye Sourdough and IPA Cherry Wheat Bread throughout the week.
The beer bread will also be incorporated into Cedar Spring Brewing Company’s food menu, which can be tasted in the brewery’s taproom.
“We will feature these breads regularly in sandwiches, appetizers and specials served in our taproom and Biergarten,” Ringler said.
Please join us on Oktober 4th of “Festival Week” for our very special Brewmaster’s Oktoberfest Dinner as we treat our guests to an “Old World” marriage of culinary and brewing arts, from Chef Shaun’s Bavarian kitchen and Matt & Brian’s Brauhaus.
